It is a basket unlike any other. This basket was created to honor Dave Longaberger. Dave helped develop the unique stairstep weaving style, but wanted to save it for some special occasion in the future. Little did he know that it would be used to honor and commemorate his life.
The basket measures 14.5x9.5 x7.5" and features 1/4" weaving. It took the weavers two to three times longer than any other basket to complete . In fact, it is the most difficult basket they have ever made. It is a true work of art! The basket has an open weave bottom and a braided leather trim strip. The family name "LONGABERGER" is branded into the front of the leather trim strip. Turn the basket over and you'll see, "To Dad with love," along with Tami and Rachel Lonaberger's signatures burned into the bottom. What a touching tribute to the man who inspired so many others. Most consider this to be the most collectible basket. |
